Residential Efficiency Tax Credits Extended to December 31, 2021

As of January 2021, federal non-business efficiency tax credits have been retroactively extended from 12/31/2017 through 12/31/2021. You may be able to take the credits if you made energy saving improvements to your home located in the United States in 2020. Homeowners may be able to claim federal tax credits equal to 10% of the installed cost for qualifying HVAC improvements, up to a maximum credit of $500.
